Official: Oppo says Find X9 Ultra puts "8 pro lenses, 14-460mm" in your pocket; iPhone-style marketing?

Ahead of the highly anticipated global debut of the Oppo Find X9 Ultra tomorrow, April 21, the Chinese phone-maker has shared a stunning series of camera samples showcasing the versatility of its "8 Pro Lenses" system.
Developed in partnership with Hasselblad, the new flagship aims to redefine the "camera in your pocket" experience by offering a seamless optical-quality range from “Macro to 460mm”.
The system is anchored by a massive 200MP Sony LYT-901 main sensor and a dual-periscope arrangement. Notably, the "8 lenses" include dedicated focal lengths of 14mm (ultrawide), 23mm, 47mm, 70mm (3x zoom), 139mm (yes, not 140mm - for whatever reason), 230mm (10x zoom), and a staggering 460mm (20x) equivalent.
By utilizing a new five-reflection periscope architecture, Oppo achieves high-fidelity zoom that mimics a physical teleconverter. Software enhancements like Hasselblad Master Mode 2.0 further bolster the hardware, providing a 16EV dynamic range and RAW MAX support across the entire focal array.
Oppo Find X9 Ultra: The "8 pro lenses in your pocket" advertising emulates Apple's controversial iPhone marketing; the Find X9 Ultra still has "only" 4 cameras
All that said, of course, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra has “only” four camera sensors, and the "8 Pro Lenses" marketing approach mirrors a controversial trend popularized by Apple, which claimed its Pro iPhones offered "seven pro lenses" despite only having three physical cameras.
Cupertino faced criticism for this branding, as it counted software-driven sensor crops as distinct lenses to inflate its hardware specifications. Let’s see if Oppo can achieve better picture quality and get away with it.
Once again, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra arrives on the global market tomorrow, April 21.
