OPT100 NeoFilm packs compact camera into a film roll format

The Kodak Charmera has proven to be quite popular with buyers. The Haru Mini retro camera was recently introduced as a similarly affordable alternative in the design of a classic SLR. Now the OPT100 NeoFilm is launching as another competitor to the Charmera, this time in the form of a film roll.
The NeoFilm is available in three different colors, and all are modeled after popular films. There’s a small 160 x 80 pixel display on the back for framing photos, and it also shows battery status and the microSD card, which can be inserted on the bottom. Meanwhile, the front houses a tiny and barely visible lens with an 8MP 1/4-inch CMOS sensor.
The camera can capture photos at 3760 x 2128 pixels as well as 1080p video at 30 fps. The combination of the tiny sensor and an f/6.3 lens is likely to result in rather modest image quality, similar to the Kodak Charmera, so the OPT100 NeoFilm should primarily be considered a toy camera. Anyhow, the camera measures just 1.9 x 1.0 x 1.0 inches and weighs less than an ounce. The 230mAh battery supposedly lasts up to 60 minutes and can be recharged via USB-C.
Price and availability
The OPT100 NeoFilm is listed on Amazon Japan for the equivalent of about $39, and can also be shipped internationally via ZenMarket, but additional fees apply in that case.
