Haru Mini retro camera takes on Kodak Charmera with a 20MP sensor in tiny retro SLR body

After the Kodak Charmera has become quite popular thanks to its compact size, retro design and low price, Hansmare is now introducing a similar product. The Haru Mini retro camera can be attached to a keychain. Its body measures just 2.0 x 1.6 x 0.7 inches and weighs 2.4 oz. The design is modeled after classic SLR cameras. Similar to the Nikon FM2, the Haru Mini Retro Camera combines a silver body with black leatherette trim. A 1.47-inch IPS panel on the back serves as both a viewfinder and for viewing saved photos.
The camera is equipped with a 20MP sensor that can also record 2K video. As with the Kodak Charmera, the combination of a tiny sensor and a relatively slow lens results in fairly modest image quality, as the sample photos embedded below illustrate. That said, the look can be adjusted via a range of filters.
Photos are saved to a microSD card and can be transferred to a computer via a USB-C port on the bottom. The Haru Mini Retro Camera can also be used as a webcam via USB-C. Hansmare further specifies a battery life of 65 minutes.
Price and availability
The Hansmare Haru Mini Retro Camera is currently only offered in Japan for the equivalent of roughly $40. In other regions, the camera is only available via import on platforms such as Zenmarket.
