Instant cameras are very much back in trend. They are the countermovement to digital sensory overload and thus part of the popular Y2K movement, which has made the vintage look of the early 2000s highly popular again. How fitting, then, that there are currently many good deals on Kodak instant cameras.

Specifically, the "Mini Shot" 2, 3, or 4 models, some with the "Retro" addition, are currently available at a very reasonable price. Even though these models differ significantly in size and image format, they largely share the same technical core.

Features

All three models are digital hybrid cameras, meaning they are not purely analog devices. While this might not sound ideal for instant cameras at first, it has many practical advantages. For instance, pictures are always displayed on the integrated LCD screen first rather than being printed automatically. This allows you to print only the pictures that actually turned out well, saving money and resources on failed attempts.

Additionally, the cameras feature Bluetooth, which establishes a connection to a smartphone. This makes it possible to use the camera as a printer and transform any digital pictures into analog memories. The printing process uses dye-sublimation technology (which Kodak calls 4PASS), ensuring that the photos are instantly dry, smudge-proof, and, according to Kodak, will last for over 100 years without fading.

Of course, more classic features are also on board, such as a built-in self-timer or a small mirror next to the lens on the front to help align the camera for selfies.

The cameras can also be used as printers by connecting them to a smartphone via Bluetooth.

It includes 38 sheets of photo paper, a leather case, a small photo album, a charm, photo clips, and all sorts of other accessories. At the moment, the set comes down to $110, including free shipping. Until very recently, the camera (together with 38 sheets, but without the additional accessories) was sold for $150 on Amazon; now, this smaller bundle is on sale for $100.
