Nvidia RTX A5500 set to debut on Dell Precision 7770 with 55 W 12th gen Core i9 vPro CPUs and UHD HDR500 DCI-P3 displays
Not to be outdone by the HP ZBook series, Dell will soon be launching its 17.3-inch Precision 7770 mobile workstation equipped with some of the fastest processors available from Intel and Nvidia. The Precision 7770 will directly replace last year's Precision 7760 by introducing a brand new chassis design consisting of reclaimed carbon fiber and a revised cooling solution with liquid polymer blades. It will also incorporate GORE thermal insulators similar to what Dell already implements on certain XPS models. The changes have allowed Dell to bump CPU TDP from 45 W on the Precision 7760 to 55 W on the Precision 7770 for improved Turbo Boost performance. Overall dimensions are otherwise very close to what we're already familiar with on the Precision 7760 as thickness hasn't changed between the two generations (28.5 mm).
CPU and GPU options have been upgraded from 11th gen Core H-series and the RTX A5000 to the latest 12th gen Core H-series and the RTX A5500. Much like how the RTX A5000 is based on the mobile GeForce RTX 3080, the RTX A5500 is expected to be based on the slightly faster mobile GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. An RTX A4500 option will also be available based on the recently released mobile GeForce RTX 3070 Ti.
Exact CPU options and starting prices have yet to be announced, but the specifications sheet below has all the juicy details on the rest of the model. Dell expects shipments to begin in in the next few months.
