Images, specifications, and rumored pricing and availability for the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 have been leaked online. The pictures relate to three variants of the graphics card from MSI, and they include a Gaming model, Armor edition, and Ventus XS card. The words “OC Edition” can be clearly seen on two of the boxes, which means gamers will be able to choose between overclockable and non-overclockable GPUs. It’s believed an overclockable custom GeForce GTX 1660 could boost to 1860 MHz.
The listed specifications for the GeForce GTX 1660 include 1408 CUDA cores, base clock of 1530 MHz, boost clock of 1785 MHz, 8 Gbps memory clock, 192-bit memory bus, and 6 GB GDDR5 memory. The specifications are very similar to those of the GTX 1660 Ti, but that card has GDDR6 memory, so it has a higher memory clock (12 Gbps) and higher memory bandwidth (288 GB/s v 192 GB/s).
The latest addition to the GTX 16-series of Turing-based GPUs is expected to be launched in just a few days, on March 14. A source has provided a price of US$219 for the GeForce GTX 1660, which would put it in competition with the slightly more-expensive AMD Radeon RX 590. The RX 590 has higher memory bandwidth (256 GB/s) and more memory (8 GB), but it has lower base and boost clocks.
