According to the rendered images and 360-degree video by 91mobiles and OnLeaks, the Nokia 8.1 Plus will join the Nova 4, Galaxy A8s, and the other handsets that come with a camera hole in the display to accommodate the selfie shooter. There is also a vertical dual camera setup with a LED flash, as well as a rear-mounted fingerprint reader.

Although more and more manufacturers are launching handsets with a hole for the selfie camera in the display that replaces the notch, I hope that there must be a third — and much better — design approach that will be introduced in the future. However, now it looks like Nokia is working on a handset that will feature a display with a hole for the selfie shooter.

An exclusive article by 91mobiles has just revealed a set of renders and a 360-degree video that were created in partnership with OnLeaks. Obviously, everything must be taken with a grain of salt for now since the name of the handset is not official yet, not to mention its looks.

Considering the previous Nokia smartphone designs, the Nokia 8.1 Plus imagined by OnLeaks and 91mobiles shows a natural evolution. Leaving aside the new display, the handset features a metallic frame, a glass back, a vertical dual camera setup with a LED flash, and a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. The Nokia and Android One branding are also placed on the back, and the final product will probably feature the Carl Zeiss brand as well.

The Nokia 8.1 Plus is expected to have a 6.22-inch display size, a 3.5 mm audio jack, USB Type-C connectivity, and stereo speakers. Is there anything that HMD Global seems to be missing? Would you rather have an in-display fingerprint reader instead of the rear-mounted one? Take a look at the short video below and let us know what you think about it in the comments section.
