Nokia 10 referenced in leaked HMD Global internal document
HMD Global is yet to announce a successor to the Nokia 9 PureView, but a leaked company document suggests that it may have an ace up its sleeve. The Nokia 8.3 is, strictly speaking, HMD Global's and Nokia's flagship smartphone, but there are suggestions that a Nokia 9.3 PureView is on the cards. However, the document obtained by Nokiamob describes what may well be an even higher-end model than the 9.3 PureView.
Seemingly, HMD Global has plans to release a Nokia 10, which was first rumoured to be in development nearly three years ago. It is unclear whether the Nokia 10 is another name for the Nokia 9.3 PureView or a completely new device, but its name implies that it will be a true flagship, at any rate. The document does not offer any further information about the Nokia 10 though, but it does state that employees are prohibited from commenting on rumours and leaks about the device.
HMD Global still hopes to become one of the top 3 smartphone OEMs within the next 3-5 years, too. To achieve this goal, HMD Global is targeting India, China, Russia, Indonesia, the UK, Germany, South Africa and the US as key markets, which roughly accounts for 45% of the world's population. Additionally, there is a desire to maintain its partnership with Google, which apparently helps Nokia distinguish itself from its competitors. Only the Nokia 5.3, Nokia 8.3 5G and Moto G Pro have been released running Android One this year, with Xiaomi having seemingly abandoned the program. Rumour has it that HMD Global will announce the Nokia 6.3, Nokia 7.3 5G and Nokia 9.3 PureView sometime this quarter.
