A new concept video created by Concept Creator has offered a fresh glimpse at what the PlayStation 5 console could look like. PS5 fans are currently starved of details thanks to Sony’s reticence in revealing any substantial information about the device. The video suggests 14 teraflops of GPU performance for the PS5, which is highly unlikely in reality.

We have seen plenty of PS5 concept renders over the last few months, and now the noted designer Concept Creator, in conjunction with LetsGoDigital, has had a crack at creating a full promotional video for the PlayStation 5. The design choice will be a surprise to many, as it more resembles its predecessors rather than taking on a V-shaped or X-shaped form. The PS5 in the video looks somewhat conservative but still appealing with its clean lines and modern aesthetic.

Along with the impressive PS5 concept rendering, the video is also accompanied by some speculative specifications. After a loving look at the AMD Ryzen processor powering the next-gen console, we are informed that this particular device features four USB Type-A ports and two USB Type-C ports. There’s also a look at the ventilation grilles and the subtle LED strip adorning the front. While a game disc is being loaded, it is stated that this concept PlayStation 5 console will offer 4K 60 FPS gameplay and 14 teraflops of GPU compute performance.

Of course, it’s a concept video for the PS5 so the creator is allowed to add a dash of creative license or wishful thinking. There is no way the base model of the PlayStation 5 will churn out 14 TFLOPS, and if there is a Pro variant of the next-gen console it’s also highly improbable that device will be able to reach a figure of 14 TFLOPS either. Online speculation of the PS5’s power has now mostly settled between 9.2 and 13.2 teraflops, but we won’t know for sure until Sony actually shares the information. For those unsure whether the video is official or not, Concept Creator has amusingly fed the concept PS5 with a Halo game disc, which is not available for the PlayStation platform.
