Two Casio G-Shock G-Squad GBD-200 watches have appeared. These new timepieces will join older GBD-200 watches like the GBD-200-1, which was released in 2021. However, the new models feature a light background or positive display, whereas all the existing models have a dark or negative display.
The square Casio GBD-200-1A1 (black resin casing) and GBD-200-7A (white resin casing) have recently appeared at a retailer in Russia. According to the product listing, these are Bluetooth watches, which will allow users to access tools and settings through the Casio Watches smartphone app. Other related features include connected GPS, and incoming call and message notifications.
These G-Squad wearables can also be used to track workouts, tracking your distance, speed, pace and calories. They support world time and feature a stopwatch, a timer and multiple daily alarms. On top of this, there is an integrated backlight and a Power Saving mode. They are expected to be water resistant to 200m and run for around two years on a replaceable battery.
It is unclear when the Casio G-Shock G-Squad GBD-200-1A1 and GBD-200-7A watches will be released. They are expected to launch in the second half of 2025, priced in Europe at around €139 and €159. For context, the older GBD-200-1A has a $150/£139/€149 RRP. If they arrive before the upcoming GMW-BZ5000, they will be the brand’s first watches to feature a positive MIP G-Shock watch.
