Rumor | Motorola's next Moto G will be a 50MP camera smartphone
According to some new leaks, Motorola is nearly ready to move on from the Moto Gx0 series of 2021. They mostly revolve around teh model number XT2173-2/3, although one or two sources reportedly assert that it will be called the G31 on its launch.
Now, a new tip might reveal some further specs for this putative new phone. It comes fresh from the NCC, which has reportedly certified the XT2173-2, complete with photographs and some other hints as to the upcoming phone's attributes, one of which is a 4,850mAh battery, to be sustained with a 10MP power brick.
The most prominent of these is its 50MP main rear sensor, judging by the text inscribed on its camera hump. It is apparently capable of quad-pixel binning, which might allow it to generate high-quality 12.5MP images. It is accompanied by 2 other lenses, which lack similar fancy labelling. They are found in a rear panel finished in what seems to be just 2 black or silver colorways.
This combination might seem like a downgrade compared to the Moto G30's quad camera array with a 64MP main sensor. However, presuming this rumored 50MP shooter is relatively new, it might prove a fair trade. All in all, the rumored Motorola Moto G31 is shaping up to be a worthwhile affordable prospect, even if it is slated to lack 5G.
