Rumor | Motorola has at least one more affordable 4G/LTE phone to launch in 2021
The Moto G Pure combines specs such as an HD+ display and dual rear cameras to go for a price of under US$200 in its new markets. Now, however, it looks like Motorola has reversed some of its compromises in a new variant that may launch before the end of 2021. Then again, it is slated to persist in missing out on 5G should it debut soon.
This device is said to have the model number of Motorola XT2165-n, whereas that of the G Pure is XT2163-n. The same identifier has appeared on the databases of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Wi-Fi Alliance. The former shows it is a 4G/LTE-only device, whereas the latter confirms it has Wi-Fi 5 (or up to ac) and runs Android 11.
The certifications also suggests that the XT2165 is destined for a number of markets (or carriers), as it has multiple variants: XT2165-1 through -3; XT2165-3PP; XT2165DL and XT2165-5. Finally, its possible relationship to the Moto G Pure is hammered home by alleged renders of the device posted exclusively by MySmartPrice.
They show a device with a rear camera hump much like that of the G Pure - however, it has a punch-hole selfie camera rather than the waterdrop notch of the existing phone. This does not guarantee additional enhanced display specs, but does at least give the putative upcoming Motorola phone a greater screen-to-body ratio.
Nevertheless, this rumored device lacks for a launch announcement as hard as it does a real product name at this point in time.
