Trokz, a brand known for making power banks based on nostalgic tech, now sells a high-capacity power bank modeled after the first cellphone in the world. The power bank also doubles as a walkie-talkie.

It has been over 40 years since Motorola released the DynaTAC 8000X, the first commercial mobile phone in the world. Now, one manufacturer has brought it back, but not as a cellphone.

The Trozk Cellular Power Bank is a portable battery pack with a 20,000mAh capacity that is housed in a shell that looks like Motorola's DynaTAC 8000X. Its design does make for a great conversation starter, but it does more than just charge your devices. Trozk says it also doubles as a walkie-talkie and a voice recorder.

The Trozk Cellular Power Bank has three USB ports and a removable antenna.

With a 165W max output and support for Power Deliver 3.1, the Trozk Cellular Power Bank is capable of charging high power devices such as a MacBook Pro, a Steam Deck, and a tablet. Trozk says the power bank, which has three ports — 2x USB-C and 1x USB-A — features four EV-grade batteries.

Each of the USB-C ports has a max output of 100W while the USB-A port has a max output of 30W. When both USB-C ports are in use, the total max output of the power bank is 165W. The max output drops to 108W when three devices are connected simultaneously, while the max output is 130W when one of the USB-C ports is in use with the USB-A port.

The Trozk Cellular Power Bank has an LED display that shows the remaining battery level. Above the screen is the speaker and below the screen are backlit buttons for using the Walkie-Talkie mode. There's also a microphone at the bottom and a removable antenna at the top next to the ports. It goes without saying that you will need two units of the power bank to use its Walkie-Talkie feature.

The Trozk Cellular Power Bank is powerful enough to charge laptops, handhelds, and tablets.

The Trozk Cellular Power Bank is available to buy from the manufacturer's website for $149, but at the time of writing, it is on sale for $89 ($60 off). The cellular power bank isn't the only retro-inspired device made by Trozk. It also has a MagSafe power bank that is shaped like a floppy disk. It also features a microSD card slot, so you can use it as an eternal storage too. There's also another model that is designed like pagers/beepers, and like a real pager, you can send messages to another beeper power bank.
