Motorola has not replaced the Moto G64 with a direct successor yet, despite releasing the device over eighteen months ago. Meanwhile, the company has introduced newer Moto G7 and Moto G8-branded smartphones like the Moto G75 and Moto G86 (curr. $329 on Amazon), respectively. Surprisingly, Motorola has now confirmed that it will be skipping the Moto G65 and Moto G66 altogether.
Instead it has decided to jump straight to the Moto G67 generation, starting with the Moto G67 Power. As the images below show, Motorola plans to offer the Moto G67 Power in three Pantone colour options, all with different textures from each other. Additionally, the Moto G67 Power finds itself with a 6.7-inch IPS display that outputs at 120 Hz and 1080p while being protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i glass.
The device is only IP64 certified though, which does not ensure much water resistance. Moreover, Motorola has equipped the Moto G67 Power with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset that Qualcomm announced over two years ago. As a result, the Moto G67 Power may only marginally outperform the older Moto G64 according to our benchmarks.
The adoption of a 7,000 mAh battery should bring a healthy battery life boost over the 6,000 mAh capacity powering the Moto G64, though. On top of that, the Moto G67 Power leverages Sony's LYT-600 sensor as its 50 MP primary camera. Motorola will begin selling the Moto G67 Power in India on November 5 with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. Motorola has not indicated whether it plans to launch the handset globally yet, though.
