The Moto E40 has yet to be confirmed, and yet is currently thought to be ranked among the highest-end devices of its series on its launch. It is rumored to be the first of the line to have a 90Hz display. Its newest leak suggests it could stand out in other ways as well.

The Moto E40 has been projected to launch with the same honeycomb-textured rear panel as its putative sibling the E20. Now, however, new renders allegedly turned up by the prolific leaker Sudhanshu Ambhore points to a different, wavy pattern in this phone’s rumored top-end counterpart.

Then again, the casing it is applied to is most likely still polycarbonate. Otherwise, the E40 is now thought to have a 6.5-inch HD+ display, as with the also-predicted Moto G Pure. Both devices are also now thought to share a 4,000mAh battery that charges at a maximum of 10 watts (W).

However, unlike the purported G-series phone, the E40 is supposed to come with a Unisoc processor. According to Ambhore, the SoC now has a name: the T700.

Should this be the case, it may also be present in the E30, although it may be required to support a relatively advanced 90Hz refresh rate in the E40 only. This device is now also touted to have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

All in all, the Moto E40 is now painted as what might be thought of as the most Pro variant of its series thus far. This might be reflected in the sober beige and green colorways allegedly chosen for the device.

Nevertheless, it has the distinctly low-end selling point of having both USB type-C and 3.5mm ports, although no mention of NFC has yet to arise in connection with this potential smartphone.
