More official OnePlus 15R details emerge as global launch nears
OnePlus is gearing up to launch a handful of new products in the international market, and the OnePlus 15R is among them. If not challenged, it will be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 flagship phone in the global market, with the launch date set for December 17, 2025.
Ahead of the launch, the company has revealed a couple of new details of this global Ace 6T rebrand. Among the newly shared details is the G2 WiFi chipset, which will be paired with a Touch Response Chip. These two, combined with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, promise to offer "ultimate performance."
Besides sharing these on the global site, OnePlus has detailed the display of the Ace 6T through its Chinese Weibo account. Through a recent teaser, the brand reveals that the 165 Hz 6.83-inch screen will feature a "global maximum brightness" rating of 1,800 nits, support for HDR10+, and come with Dolby Vision.
The display of the soon-to-be OnePlus 15R is also set to come with multiple eye-protection features, including 3,840 Hz PWM dimming and hardware-level blue light reduction. These promise to offer a comfortable viewing experience even under challenging lighting conditions.
Other than that, OnePlus has recently confirmed that it has used the same fingerprint scanner as its last-gen flagship (512 GB curr. $879 on Amazon), and there's Rain Touch 2.0 tech to ensure enhanced touch responsiveness even when the screen is wet. The Chinese variant will also get a Genshin Impact edition, which is unlikely to be available to the global market at launch. Official pricing details are still under wraps, but the good part is that the Chinese launch is around the corner.
