Misfit, the American wearables manufacturer, has unveiled official details about the upcoming Vapor 2 smartwatch. The wearable will come in two different sizes and feature a phone-free music player, a standalone GPS, and it will have a built-in heart-rate sensor. This useful device is currently advertised at a starting price of US$249.99.

The Misfit Vapor 2 smartwatch has finally appeared in all its glory. The device offers a plethora of features at a much cheaper price than the base model of the Series 4 Apple Watch. There is a heart-rate sensor and standalone GPS included, and the smartwatch comes with 4 GB on-board storage so it can be used as a music player without the need of connecting to a smartphone. The wearable comes in two case sizes – 41 mm (1.2-in screen) and 46 mm (1.4-in screen) – and there is a range of options for the device when it comes to case and strap color, including jet black, rose, and stainless steel.

If that wasn’t enough to help sell the device, Misfit has also made sure the Vapor 2 can be used in shallow-swimming sessions due to its water-resistance capability (up to 30 m). The watch is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC and features Google’s Wear OS. You can also expect to find an accelerometer, altimeter, gyroscope, microphone, and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity on the list of specifications for the new gadget.

The Misfit Vapor 2 smartwatch is listed at a price starting from US$249.99 (goes up to US$269.99 if a stainless steel bracelet is selected) and should be “coming soon,” according to the device’s official product page. The wearable, which comes with 512 MB RAM, also includes the ability to use Google Pay in some locations. Along with the standalone GPS, this is a new feature that its predecessor didn’t offer.
