Mercedes-Benz has revealed that the cost system for its Mercedes me Charge scheme will change in Europe from June 2022. The updated tariff system will have three rungs to choose from based on how far and frequently you travel in your electric vehicle. The scheme will also standardize costs across the network of over 300,000 charging points.

Mercedes-Benz has announced a more straightforward tariff system for its Mercedes me Charge network. The new costs will take effect from June 2022 with three rungs; Mercedes me Charge S, M and L.

Mercedes me Charge is a payment method for electric vehicle charging. Customers can access a network of around 300,000 charging points across Europe, using the Mercedes me app or the Mercedes me Charge card for payment. The app can also show you charging points on your route, plus their pricing and availability.

The network includes over 850 operators; Mercedes has said that the new scheme will introduce fixed prices between these different operators for maximum cost transparency.

Buyers of new Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrids (Mercedes me Charge M) and fully electric vehicles (Mercedes me Charge L) will receive a gift; they can join the scheme without paying the basic monthly fee for the first 12 months.

The pricing is linked to individual driving performance, allowing you to choose your level based on your charging habits. Mercedes me Charge S is designed for occasional charges, whereas Mercedes me Charge L is suited to those who travel longer distances and more frequently. The pricing for each rung is listed below.
