DeLorean will unveil its concept EV on August 18 at Monterey Car Week
According to the DeLorean Motor Company, it will reveal the long-awaited DeLorean electric vehicle on Thursday, August 18. It's worth noting that this is not the same brand responsible for the original DMC-12; it is an automaker known for restoring vintage DeLorean cars.
The company announced that the concept car would be shown on the Awards Ramps at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance as part of Monterey Car Week. The unveiling was initially planned to take place on August 21, but it has been brought forward by three days.
The reveal will be part of a series of events celebrating the car. As well as showcasing the design, DeLorean will also announce the name of the vehicle at the show. Alongside announcing the new reveal date, DeLorean also shared a teaser image of the EV.
The image reveals the left shoulder and rear tail light of the vehicle. Plus, a video clip on the company's website suggests that the car will have gullwing doors, like the DMC-12, mimicking a v-shape on the grill.
Last year, DeLorean said that it had worked on the vehicle's design with Lamborghini owned Italdesign, famous for its partnership with Volkswagen in the 70s. Little else is known about the concept car, which DeLorean first talked about in 2011.
