Mammotion LUBA wireless robot lawn mower with ultrasonic sensors launches
Mammotion has revealed the LUBA, its first wireless robotic lawn mower. The device uses an advanced RTK system to provide a location accuracy of 2 cm (~0.8-in) in place of boundary wires. Plus, an Intelligent Navigation System enables the robot to plan an efficient route.
Four ultrasonic radar sensors provide a 220° field of view to ensure the robot doesn’t collide with objects up to ~1.6 cm (2-in) in size. The lawn mower uses an all-wheel-drive platform with internal wheel motors to tackle inclines up to 75%. Robust tyres help the robot tackle rough terrain.
You can use the Mammotion app to set up multiple zones on the map and customize cutting height and schedules for each area individually. LUBA automatically returns to its docking station on completing a job or when the battery is low.
If a session is interrupted, the mower will automatically pick up where it left off once it reaches an 85% charge. A 10 Ah battery allows the robot to mow an area of 5,000 m² (~53,820 ft²) between charges.
You can now buy the Mammotion LUBA robot lawn mower for HK$10,197 (~US$1,299) via Kickstarter. This price includes a 48% discount off the HK$24,671 (US$2,499) retail price.
