Navimow robot lawn mower from Segway launches in Europe this month with gift for first customers
The Segway Navimow robot lawn mower is due to go on sale in some European countries from the end of May. The gadget was announced last year, with the key selling point of the device being that it does not require a perimeter guide wire, like many other models.
As we previously reported, three models will be available, the largest of which will have a 10,400 mAh battery to cover an area of 3,000 m² (32,392 ft²). Exact Fusion Locating System provides high accuracy positioning data using GNSS satellite signals. This technology guides the robot, ensuring it only mows within the set boundaries.
Segway claims this is the quietest robotic mower available, generating 54 dBA. The Navimow's 5 cm (~2-in) thick wheels help it cope with inclines up to 45%, and an IPX6 water resistance rating means it can handle rainfall and water jets. Plus, the accompanying app has won an iF Gold Award.
The first batch of Segway Navimow robot lawn mowers will be available in the following countries later this month: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
The various models will cost between €1,499 and €2,499, and a second batch of the product is expected in September. It is still unclear when the gadget will be released in other regions such as North America and Australia.
The first 1,000 customers to purchase a Navimow before July 31st will be eligible for a free antenna extension kit as part of the Navimow Pilot User Program. The kit boosts the GPS signal to improve the gadget's performance.
