After the next-generation Apple iPad Pro was recently spotted in an unboxing video, the Apple Online Store is now indicating that the launch of the successor model is imminent, and the next-generation MacBook Pro is also expected to hit the market soon.
The next-generation iPad Pro was revealed in an unboxing video a few days ago, accompanied by initial benchmarks for the Apple M5. The MacBook Pro M5, on the other hand, was recently certified by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and apparently still lacks Wi-Fi 7. Now, the Apple Online Store itself has just provided an indication that the launch of both products is imminent.
Select versions of the iPad Pro with the Apple M4 are no longer in stock; according to the website, delivery will take one to two weeks. The base model of the 14-inch MacBook Pro has an estimated delivery time of two to three weeks, while models with storage upgrades will take seven to ten days. Such delivery delays are often an indication that Apple is about to launch new models, and that stocks of older products are being sold off and no longer being replenished.
Aside from the new chip, the iPad Pro upgrade is expected to be fairly moderate. Rumors suggest that Apple has not changed the design nor the display. The base model is now expected to have 12 GB of RAM instead of 8 GB, while a second front camera may be added. The MacBook Pro is not expected to receive a comprehensive upgrade until the Apple M6 next year, featuring a new design and OLED touchscreen. Customers can also expect a new Vision Pro mixed reality headset with Apple M5, the next-generation Apple TV 4K and a new HomePod mini in the fall.

Growing up in regional Australia, I first became acquainted with computers in my early teens after a broken leg from a football (soccer) match temporarily condemned me to a predominately indoor lifestyle. Soon afterwards I was building my own systems. Now I live in Germany, having moved here in 2014, where I study philosophy and anthropology. I am particularly fascinated by how computer technology has fundamentally and dramatically reshaped human culture, and how it continues to do so.
