The MSI GT70 Dominator delivers on almost every single front and manages to do so with a reasonable price tag. The powerful processor, ample RAM supply and NVidia’s new 870M GPU provides excellent performance perfect for both power users and playing games. The display’s color accuracy isn’t perfect, but the panel still offers a top-notch viewing experience with vibrant contrast and high brightness. The keyboard affords crisp responsive controls and users can easily customize their layouts and macros with the paired SteelSeries Engine.

It's all too easy to spend $3,000 or $4,000 on a top-flight gaming laptop like the Origin EON17-SLX or Alienware 18$3,549.00 at Dell. Capping your budget at $2,000 obliges you to sacrifice some bling or frame-rate bragging rights, but you can still get a formidable system. And the MSI GT70 Dominator-893 is an impressive performer all around.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
4800MQ: Haswell-based quad-core processor clocked at 2.7 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.7 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU and a dual channel DDR3 memory controller.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
