MSI GP72 2QE Leopard Pro

The MSI GP72 2QE Leopard Pro is one of the best gaming laptops for users looking to enjoy computer games while traveling. The laptop is equipped with boosted coolers and 17.3 inch anti-glare screen for the best mobile gaming experience. It only weighs 2.6 kg including battery, which is considerably light for a gaming laptop. The laptop comes with Windows 8.1 Pro which allows users to immediately use it upon unboxing and it can be upgraded to Windows 10 as per Microsoft’s upgrade program. The laptop is powered with a 5th generation Intel i7 processor and a 2 GB nVidia GTX950M graphic card, which would allow users to play most of the computer games available in the market. Storage on the laptop is a 1TB HDD. Its LAN port is equipped with Killer GB LAN, which will improve the online gaming experience. To optimize the gaming experience, MSI has included 8 GB DDR3 RAM. The MSI GP72 2QE Leopard Pro features WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, an HD webcam, three USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port. Audio is powered by Nahimic sound technology to boost its audio quality. The lithium ion battery with 6 cells estimated to last 4 hours.

MSI GP72 6QF Leopard Pro-614IT

The MSI GP72 6QF Leopard Pro-614IT M is a gaming laptop which is top of the range from the well-kept design that is built with quality materials. The design of MSI GP72 6QF Leopard Pro-614IT is well defined and indicates immediately that it is a computer made for gaming, but remains sober, avoiding too garish colors, which is appreciated by users who like a cleaner design. The outer shell of the laptop is made of black polycarbonate. Under the constructive aspect, this product does not disappoint, the materials are of good quality even if the laptop does not come close to the most expensive products on the market. Besides that, it features a SteelSeries keyboard with backlight and several special keys and shortcuts that can be very useful during gaming and standard use such as web surfing. The screen has a 15.6-inch diagonal and Full HD resolution. The TN panel offers a viewing angle of 170 degrees horizontally. Although it is not an IPS panel, it offers wider viewing angles and bright colors which a good balance between quality and convenience to the manufacturer for the player. On the top edge of the display, there is a an HD web cam, which could be ideal when the user needs to communicate online with other players while gaming. The MSI GP72 6QF Leopard Pro-614IT is equipped with an Intel i7 processor 6700HQ, a fairly powerful solution. The processor is a quad core with Hyper-Threading, a base clock frequency of 2.6 GHz and a turbo clock of 3.5 GHz. The system comes with 16 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz RAM and a 1 TB HDD as well as a 256 GB SSD, in which the operating system has been installed, as storage devices. As for the graphic card, it features an Nvidia GeForce 960M with Maxwell architecture with 649 CUDA cores and base clock of 1096 MHz. The memory clock can reach up to 2500 MHz with a 128-bit bus for a bandwidth of 80 GB/s and the dedicated VRAM is a 2 GB GDDR5 memory. This graphics card should be able to run all current games smoothly, but giving up the maximum level of detail. The connections are located on the lateral edges of the notebook. On the right, there is the SD card reader, a USB port and the burner, while on the left there are the Ethernet port, two USB ports 3.0 and a USB 3.0 Type C, an HDMI port and a mini DisplayPort, a Kensington Lock slot and two jacks for headphones and microphone. As for connectivity, the MSI GP72 6QF Leopard Pro-614IT comes with free Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, a Gigabit Ethernet port and Bluetooth 4.0 and offers all types of connections commonly available. Indeed, with better battery performance we might be honoring the GP72VR with one of our coveted Editors' Choice tags. Given its GeForce GTX 1060 graphics, as we said, its 120Hz display is more of a nice-to-have than a change-your-life feature, but the screen looks terrific, the system isn't as heavy as most 17.3-inch rigs, and the price is right. If you'd like to get into virtual reality, or if you're convinced you're getting fragged time and again because you're seeing 60 instead of 65 or 70 frames per second, don't hesitate to check it out.

MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI) was founded in 1986 in Taiwan. MSI is especially known as a manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards for PCs, but also offers computer accessories, complete systems, motherboards, graphics cards, laptops, desktop PCs, monitors and other components. However, the Microstar brand name in Germany belongs to the Medion company. MSI is known for its gaming products and has developed a wide range of gaming laptops and desktop PCs. The company is also active in workstations, servers and industrial automation. MSI has offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M: Mid-range graphics card of the GeForce GTX 900M series, based on the Maxwell architecture.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M: Upper mid-range graphics card of the GeForce GTX 900M series.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Mobile: Mainstream graphics card based on Nvidia's Pascal architecture and successor to the GeForce GTX 965M. Is manufactured in a 14nm process at Samsung and the technical specifications are very similar to the desktop version.

With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile: The mobile GTX 1060 is based on the GP106 chip and offer 1280 shaders. Compared to the identically named desktop version it features a slightly lower clock rate. Games in Full HD and maximum details should run fluently on the card.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.

5700HQ: Broadwell-based quad-core processor for notebooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 5600 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.

6700HQ: Skylake-based quad-core processor for notebooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 530 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.

Intel Kaby Lake:

i7-7700HQ: Quad-core notebook processor based on the Kaby Lake architecture. Besides four CPU cores (including Hyper Threading), the chips also integrates the HD Graphics 630 GPU and is manufactured in an improved 14 nm process.
