Lenovo releases new 14-inch ThinkPad in North America with LPCAMM2 RAM and Intel Panther Lake

Lenovo has had a busy few weeks with new ThinkPad releases in North America. At the end of April, the company began selling the ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 11 across Canada and the US. Shortly afterwards, it released the ThinkPad T16 Gen 4 with Lunar Lake processors before pivoting to the ThinkPad T16 Gen 5 a few days later.
Now it has returned to North America with the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7. As in Europe, Lenovo has started by releasing Intel variants. A successor to the AMD-based ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 (curr. $1,349 on Amazon) that we reviewed in April is coming, though. Unfortunately, it remains unclear when AMD Gorgon Point-powered models will be available.
In the meantime, Lenovo is selling the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 with a choice between Core Ultra 5 325, Core Ultra 5 335 vPro, Core Ultra 7 355 and Core Ultra 7 365 vPro processors. Also, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 is one of the 14-inch laptops that supports user-replaceable LPCAMM2 RAM. At the time of writing, Lenovo offers 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB RAM LPPDR5X-8533 modules; the latter is $920 more expensive than a 16 GB module, though.
Additionally, the laptop can be configured with 60 Wh or 75 Wh batteries and a choice between four display options. It is worth noting that only one of these is an OLED panel, which outputs at 1800p (2.8K) with a 30-120 Hz variable refresh rate. The anti-glare panel is said to deliver 500 nits peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, too.
The ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 starts at $1,618 and CAD 2,331. For reference, these prices include a Core Ultra 5 325 processor, 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, a 60 Wh battery and a 1200p IPS panel with a mere 45% NTSC colour space coverage. At the time of publication, Lenovo charges over $3.7k and CAD 5.3k for the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 with a Core Ultra 7 365 vPro, 64 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, a 75 Wh battery and an 1800p OLED display. We are currently in the process of reviewing the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 ourselves.
