Lenovo Yoga Creator 7 15IHM05: Lightweight multimedia allrounder with a good battery life
With the Yoga Creator 7, Lenovo mainly targets so-called "content creators," but the device should also generate some interest beyond this group of users, since it is basically a classic allrounder laptop. The technology of the laptop is housed in an elegant, slim metal case that is equipped with matte, smooth surfaces. The color tone used here is called "Dark Moss."
The laptop weighs a total of about 1700 grams (~3.75 lb), making it a mobile device. This is also confirmed by the very good battery life: The 15.6-inch laptop achieves realistic runtimes of between 9 and 13 hours. It can be charged either using the included proprietary power supply or, thanks to the Thunderbolt 3 port, also using a USB-C charger. A 45-Watt USB-C charger is sufficient to start charging - we tried it. However, a more powerful charger is recommended. It is not possible to provide the full amount of power to the laptop via USB-C, since the transfer is limited to a maximum of 100 watts.
The test unit provided to us offers a Core i7-10750H processor, a GeForce GTX-1650 GPU, 16 GB of working memory (dual-channel mode, not expandable), and a 1-TB NVMe SSD. This prepares the device for all the usual usage scenarios, and the laptop can handle office tasks, Internet, videos and image processing, streaming, and gaming without any trouble. While the laptop brings almost all the current computer games to the screen smoothly, the built-in hardware is not designed for the maximum quality settings.
