CES 2023 | Lenovo Thinkbook 16p Gen 4 now features a 3.2K 120 Hz mini-LED display along with Intel Raptor Lake-H and Nvidia RTX 4060 options

The 2022 Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 3 came across as a good challenger to the likes of the Dell XPS 15 in our review, although the gen-on-gen performance improvements themselves were not very significant. Today, at CES 2023, Lenovo is introducing the ThinkBook 16p Gen 4 with Intel Raptor Lake-H processors and Nvidia Ada RTX 40 series Laptop GPUs.

The ThinkBook 16p Gen 4 gets all-around improvements compared to the previous generation. Lenovo now equips the ThinkBook 16p Gen 4 with a 3.2K 120 Hz mini-LED 400-nit display that covers 100% DCI-P3. This display is color-calibrated for a Delta E of less than 1 and also allows color gamut switching. Buyers can also configure the laptop with a 2.5K 60 Hz IPS display that can cover 100% of the sRGB color gamut. Both displays are certified for TUV Eyesafe and TUV Low Blue Light emissions.

Lenovo has opted to go the Intel route this time, offering Raptor Lake-H options up to the Core i9. Graphics are handled by GPU options up to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU. Consequently, we get to see larger air vents on all four sides of the device compared to the previous model for enhanced cooling. Memory can be configured up to 16 GB upgradeable DDR5 RAM while there are two M.2 slots for dual SSDs.

Connectivity options get an upgrade as well with support for Wi-Fi 6E. The display houses a FHD IR webcam, but Lenovo has also provided a 11-pin pogo connector on the other side of the webcam to attach Magic Bay accessories such as the Magic Bay Light, Magic Bay LTE, and Magic Bay 4K webcam, which were also showcased today.

Lenovo has also increased the battery capacity with the ThinkBook 16p Gen 4 to 80 WHr with fast charging.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 4 will be available from June 2023 starting from €1,399.
