Lenovo has started offering the ThinkBook Plus G3 in Europe, having unveiled the laptop in January at CES 2022. As we discussed at the time, the ThinkBook Plus G3 has a 17.3-inch display that operates at 3,072 x 1,440 pixels with a 21:10 aspect ratio. While that would be a selling point itself, Lenovo has also included a secondary display next to the keyboard for note-taking. For reference, the secondary display measures 8-inches across, making it considerably wider than a dedicated number pad.
Additionally, the machine relies on the Core i7-12700H, an Alder Lake-H series processor with 14 cores, 20 threads, an Iris Xe Graphics G7 iGPU (96 EUs) and a 45 W TDP. Moreover, the laptop contains LPDDR5 RAM, a PCIe Gen 4 SSD and a 70 Wh battery, although the latter is unlikely to last long between charges with two displays and a 45 W processor under the hood. Also, it is worth noting that the ThinkBook Plus G3 is rather hefty at 410 mm wide, 228 mm deep, 17.9 mm thick and at least 2 kg in weight.
Ultimately, the ThinkBook Plus G3 is only suitable for those who are right-handed or ambidextrous. As far as we are aware, Lenovo has no plans to produce a left-handed version of the ThinkBook Plus G3. Currently, the ThinkBook Plus G3 starts at €1,823 with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD. Alternatively, the machine is available with 32 GB of RAM but prices vary up to an eye-watering €2,500. Incidentally, the machine remains on sale in the US in three configurations, including a version with the Core i5-12500H and 512 GB of storage.
