MWC 2022 | Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 2 i two-in-one laptop refreshed with Intel Alder Lake processors, 1080p webcam, and more
Lenovo refreshed a whole barrage of its ThinkBook, ThinkPad and IdeaPad laptops at MWC 2022. Among them is the Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 2 i. While it does get some new hardware, the upgrades aren't nearly as significant. Lenovo says that the ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 2 will be available from April 2022 in two colourways, Abyss Blue and Mineral Gray. Prices start at US$849.
Like its other siblings, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 2 i uses an Intel Alder Lake processor coupled with up to 40 GB of DDR4 user-replaceable RAM and a 1 TB NVMEs SSD. An additional slot is provided for further expansion. The laptop draws power from a 60 Wh battery that Lenovo says is good for up to 8 hours. One can charge it with a USB Type-C and a conventional barrel-pin charger.
Unlike many modern-day laptops, the Lenovo ThinkNook 14s Yoga Gen 2 i opts out of using a 16:10 or 3:2 screen and sticks to an old fashioned 14-inch 16:9 FHD (1,920 x 1,080) version instead. It is touch-enabled, covers 100% of the sRGB colour gamut, has a peak brightness of 300 nits. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass protects it from daily wear and tear. Thanks to its 360-degree and touch-enabled screen that supports stylus inputs, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 2 i can double up as a tablet.
Connectivity options on the Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 2 i include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1, one Thunderbolt 4.0 port, one USB Type-C port, two USB Type-A ports, one HDMI port a 3.5mm combo audio jack. The laptop weighs 1.5 kg (3.31 lbs) and measures 320 x 216 x 16.9 mm (12.59 x 8.5 x 0.67) inches. Its included webcam has an FHD resolution and comes with an in-built privacy shutter.
