Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 3i unleashed with Intel Alder Lake processors and dual Thunderbolt 4 ports
Not only has Lenovo refreshed the ThinkPad X13, it has also announced a new version of the ThinkPad X13 i, an Intel-based edition that shares many of its features with its AMD counterpart. Specifically, the ThinkPad X13 Gen 3i will be available with up to 32 GB of RAM and a 2 TB PCIe SSD, along with a 13.3-inch display.
Like last year's model, the ThinkPad X13 Gen 3i will launch with multiple display options, including a WQXGA variant that offers 400 nits of peak brightness. Additionally, the ThinkPad X13 Gen 3i has a Dolby Audio speaker system, an IR camera with a camera shutter and a choice between 41 Wh or 54.7 Wh batteries. Lenovo has not confirmed how much every configuration weighs, but the ThinkPad X13 Gen 3i will start at 1.19 kg, presumably with its smaller battery option.

Exact processor details are unknown currently, too. However, Lenovo has confirmed that 12th Gen Intel Core processors will be available, likely up to the Core i7-1280P and its vPro equivalent. For reference, the Core i7-1280P is a 28 W part with 14 cores and 20 threads. Also, the ThinkPad X13 Gen 3i has dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, a feature that AMD-based models lack. Moreover, the former has a single HDMI 2.0b connection and two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports.
According to Lenovo, the ThinkPad X13 Gen 3i will launch in June 2022, priced from US$1,179. Currently, the company has only revealed pricing and availability for the US, details about other markets remain pending at this time. Similarly, Lenovo has not announced how much the machine's optional 5G sub6 modem will cost; by default, the ThinkPad X13 Gen 3i will ship with a 4G LTE modem instead.
