Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 3: New 13.3-inch convertible unveiled with 12th Gen Intel Core processors with a larger battery
Lenovo has announced the ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 3, a 13.3-inch laptop that builds on the Gen 2 model that we reviewed last summer. For reference, the Gen 3 model measures 305 x 214.15 x 15.94 mm, making it slightly deeper and thicker than its predecessor. The new ThinkPad X13 Yoga weighs 1.19 kg though, roughly 100 g lighter than the Gen 2 model.
Predictably, Lenovo has upgraded the ThinkPad X13 Yoga to 12th Gen Intel Core processors. The company does not specify which processors will be available, but it states that the machine will be configurable with up to vPro Core i7 SKUs. Presumably, this will include the Core i7-1280P, a 28 W part that features 14 cores and 20 threads.
Moreover, the ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 3 supports up to 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB of PCIe storage. Lenovo also equips all models with a 57 Wh battery, unlike the ThinkPad X13 Gen 3 or the ThinkPad X13 Gen 3i. Supposedly, the machine's 57 Wh battery should deliver up to 13.6 hours of battery life between charges, although manfacturer's runtime estimates tend to be on the generous side. Lenovo continues to offer up to a WQXGA panel (2,560 x 1,600) as well, which we reviewed in last year's model.
The ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 3 will be available from June and will start at US$1,369. Unfortunately, Lenovo has not confirmed what hardware the entry-level model ships with, nor how much its flagship configuration will cost. Still, all configurations will feature Bluetooth 5.2, 802.11 ax and 4G LTE CAT4 or CAT16 modems, plus the following ports and security hardware:
- 1x Fingerprint reader
- 1x Camera shutter
- 1x Kensington lock slot
- 1x HDMI 2.0b
- 2x USB Type-C (Thunderbolt 4)
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A
- 1x 3.5 mm audio jack
