Deal | Lenovo ThinkPad P14s G5 with AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 8840HS, 64 GB RAM and 2.8K OLED gets hefty 50% discount

Summer deals are on at Lenovo’s US online store with big discounts for some top tier models. This year’s ThinkPad P14s Gen 5 mobile workstation laptop is clearly the best deal at the moment, as Lenovo is slashing 50% off the MSRP, bringing the price down to a more palatable $1,329 via the “WSDEAL8” discount code applicable in cart.

This price is particularly enticing, since Lenovo is throwing in not just 16 or 32 GB, but 64 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, which can further be upgraded to 96 GB. The Hawk Point Ryzen 7 PRO 8840HS APU is also a nice addition, featuring an 8-core / 16-thread CPU, the Radeon 780M iGPU and an updated NPU for AI workloads. The storage side comes with a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD secured by the Opal 2.0 standard.

The only slight downside on this AMD model is the display refresh rate limited to 60 Hz. Otherwise, the 14-inch OLED panel itself is excellent, with 2880 x 1800 resolution, 400 nit typical brightness, Dolby Vision compatibility and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. On top, there is a 5 MP webcam with IR sensor, human presence detector and privacy shutter.

Port selection is solid with 2x USB4, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (one always on), HDMI 2.1 video out, kensington nano lock, audio and ethernet jack. Wireless connectivity is offered through Wi-Fi 6E + BT5.3 card. Including the 52.5 Wh battery, this model weighs 2.89 lbs (1.31 kg).
