The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 workstation laptop with a Core Ultra 7 155H APU, an RTX 1000 Ada Generation GPU, and a 165 Hz QH+ display is enjoying a big discount at Lenovo’s official store. The laptop features a modern design and is highly upgradable thanks to the inclusion of an LPCAMM2 memory module and two M.2 slots.

In our review of the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 mobile workstation laptop with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, we called the notebook “a well-realized transformation to a more premium design with improved mobility compared to its predecessor”. The laptop impressed us with features like an excellent chassis, modular components, strong performance, plenty of ports, and more.

If this description appeals to you but you were put off by the high price, you’d be happy to know that the ThinkPad P1 G7 is now retailing for only $1,247.20. This is a phenomenal 67% or $2,562 decrease over Lenovo’s stated list price (linked below).

Lenovo ThinkPad P1 G7 specifications

The discounted Lenovo ThinkPad P1 G7 brings a Meteor Lake Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, 16 GB of LPDDR5X-7467 LPCAMM2 memory, and a 512 GB TLC Opal Gen 4 SSD. The laptop also comes with an RTX 1000 Ada Generation workstation GPU which should be on par with the RTX 4050 mobile.

Display duties are handled by a 16-inch 1600p IPS display with 100% sRGB coverage and 500 nits of brightness. There is also a 5 MP webcam up top with support for Windows Hello facial recognition.

Finally, the laptop features a 90 Wh battery, Wi-Fi 7, and two Thunderbolt 4 ports alongside other connectors like a full-sized SD card slot, one Type-A, and one HDMI 2.1, to name a few.

In real-world use, the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 G7 (Intel) is a pretty good device overall. We rated the laptop a “Good” 84% in our review owing to the machine’s modern design, Sensel haptic touchpad, high performance with the Core Ultra 7 155H, and excellent keyboard.

The laptop’s display was also quite convincing, as it delivered on Lenovo’s claim of 500 nits of brightness while also rocking a good contrast ratio and a 165 Hz refresh rate. That said, the panel came with subpar factory calibration which we were able to enhance. Our ICC profile can be downloaded for free from the review page.

Finally, the ThinkPad P1 G7 manages around 10 hours of Wi-Fi websurfing runtime, a solid result for a workstation laptop.

In short, if you are in the market for a powerful workstation laptop that you can upgrade with more storage and RAM down the line, the ThinkPad P1 G7 on sale fits the bill perfectly.
