Lenovo has consistently expanded its Ryzen portfolio for years. For the business series ThinkPad, there are budget models as well as premium mid-range variations in sizes ranging from 13 to 15 inch. One of the remaining empty spots were convertible ThinkPad laptops with a touchscreen and pen. In this area, Lenovo only used Intel processors.
This changes today, as at least there is a budget convertible with AMD Ryzen 5000 and the ThinkPad logo on the market now. The new Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 2 and ThinkPad L13 Gen 2 are coming to the market with AMD Ryzen 5000, several months after their Intel variations have appeared.
Since those are budget friendly models, buyers have to make do without premium features like the 16:10 screens of the ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 2 (available from Amazon). The cheaper L series still uses 16:9 screens. The basic features of the ThinkPad Yoga series are here though: The red TrackPoint, the ThinkPad keyboard, the pen that is housed in the chassis and the 360 degree hinges with the touchscreen.
ThinkPad L13 Gen 2 and L13 Yoga Gen 2 with AMD Ryzen PRO 5000 will be available in August 2021. The L13 G2 will start at €650, while the L13 Yoga G2 has a base price of €750 - pricing is without VAT.
