Although the Galaxy S22 series isn't due to be launched anytime soon, the rumour mill is already hard at work predicting what Samsung could have in store for us with its 2022 flagships. Twitter leaker @FrontTron has now stumbled upon some interesting information about the smartphones' camera layout.
It seems that the upcoming Galaxy S22 series will ship a 50MP sensor (presumably an ISOCELL GN2), a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens that offers 3x optical zoom. We've already seen the ISOCELL GN2 sensor work wonders on the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, and we can expect it to achieve similar, if not better, results alongside Samsung's flagship smartphones. As always, the information is unofficial and should be treated as such until other sources confirm it.
Assuming that Samsung sticks to its three-pronged flagship release, we can safely conclude that the aforementioned camera configuration will debut alongside the vanilla Galaxy S22 or Galaxy S22+. On the other hand, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to pack Samsung's putative 200MP sensor. Previous reports have told us that Samsung has plans to collaborate with Olympus to develop camera hardware for some of its upcoming smartphones.
