Designed to rid oneself of the temptation to check "your smartphone for email during meetings", the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus is more than just another Comet Lake laptop. Announced at CES 2020 in January, the ThinkBook Plus has a secondary 1080p display on its display lid. Measuring 10.8-inches, the secondary display is an e-ink touchscreen panel.
According to Lenovo, the e-ink display can be used to view notifications, read eBooks, annotate PDF documents and for drawing or writing notes. Most of these require the use of an active pen, which Lenovo includes in the box. The pen also magnetically attaches to the left-hand side of the display when not in use.
Beyond that, the ThinkBook Plus is a regular Comet Lake-U series laptop. The device has a 13.3-inch primary display that is IPS, 1080p and a 300 nit panel. Only available with a Core i5-10210U, 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD, the ThinkBook Plus is now shipping for US$1,299. The price includes a pen and a protective sleeve, along with a 65 W USB Type-C charger to keep the device's 45 Wh battery topped up.
