Following its refresh of the IdeaPad 5, Lenovo has brought Renoir processors to its cheaper IdeaPad 3 series. Available as 14-inch and 15.6-inch laptops, the new IdeaPad 3 models are already available to order in Germany. Similar Lenovo UK listings refer to the IdeaPad 3 series including Renoir processors too, but the actual product pages are yet to be updated.
Nonetheless, Lenovo has listed the new models on its Production Specifications Reference (PSREF) website. Called the IdeaPad 3 14ARE05 and IdeaPad 3 15ARE05, both will be sold in a host of countries with up to a Ryzen 7 4700U.
Strictly speaking, the new IdeaPad 3 series starts at €369.00 (~US$400). However, that requires configuring the 14-inch Ryzen 3 4300U model with Free-DOS rather than Windows 10. Nonetheless, Lenovo is still selling a Ryzen 7 4700U version with 8 GB of RAM and a 1080p panel for €609.00 with a Windows 10 licence, which seems reasonably priced.
Lenovo also sells Intel Comet Lake-U versions of the IdeaPad 3. It remains to be seen when Lenovo will expand the release of Renoir-powered IdeaPad 3 laptops, though. With that said, the discrepancies in UK product pages implies that the new IdeaPad 3 series will be reaching other markets soon.
