Leaks surrounding Hideo Kojima’s PlayStation-exclusive action-espionage project Physint point to a major antagonist described in casting materials as a “quiet and intense” killer type with a mandatory German accent, likened to “Mads Mikkelsen in Hannibal, but with flair.” The report also notes Kojima Productions’ near-term focus on casting and performance-capture planning, with early shoots rumored for June and additional talent names circulating despite the game remaining in the concept stage.

Fans of legendary video game director Hideo Kojima are finally getting small leaks about the acclaimed creator’s PlayStation-exclusive project, Physint, a new action-espionage title dubbed the spiritual successor to Metal Gear Solid. Given that the game is in the conceptual stages and has released just one piece of promotional art, new leaks have revealed details about casting calls for a villain with a German accent who radiates the aura of “Mads Mikkelsen in Hannibal, but with flair.”

A German-speaking role tailor-made for Mads Mikkelsen?

As reported by MP1st, the casting calls are requesting a villain who sounds somewhat familiar. The role is for a white male character aged 50-70, with a slim build, weighing 145 pounds, and standing 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Morphological dimensions aside, the villain's description is the truly interesting aspect. The casting calls describe an actor with a “quiet and intense” aura from whom “you feel the tension rise with his presence.”

The casting call further details: “Confident in a psychotic way. Calm and cold killer type. Think Mads Mikkelsen in Hannibal, but with flair. MUST HAVE GERMAN ACCENT.” In the call, the actor is positioned as lead talent, and the scene involves passengers on a hijacked bus, suggesting that Physint will feature some action-packed, intense sequences right from the start.

For the most part, Kojima Productions has kept Physint under wraps since it was first announced as a PlayStation-published project earlier in 2024. This year, Kojima stated that 2026 would be all about laying the foundation for Physint.

A focus on casting with shoots planned for later this year

In a New Year message, he confirmed that Kojima Productions would be focusing on “casting actors, scanning, and performance capture shoots.” Reports state that the studio is already preparing for motion capture sessions, with early shoots planned for June.

While still in the concept phase, some serious talent is reportedly joining the Physint roster, including Charlee Fraser from Furiosa, Ma Dong-seok from Train to Busan, and Minami Hamabe from Godzilla Minus One.

Fans are already suggesting that the main antagonist could be played perfectly by Christoph Waltz, given his distinguished career portraying intense and terrifying antagonists such as Colonel Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds, Ernst Stavro Blofeld in Spectre, and Ulrich Mott in Georgetown.
