Leaker reveals new Epic Games Store free game plans ahead of schedule
The Epic Games Store is set to refresh its free games service with new titles on September 17. For the time being, the storefront is giving away Astral Ascent and Luftrausers in a deal worth almost $35 for Windows gamers. Additionally, one can grab Alone With You on Android and iOS until September 17 from Epic Games' mobile stores.
After that, Epic Games will switch to Mindcop and Shogun Showdown, again for Windows rather than macOS as well. Specifically, both titles will be given away between 15:00 UTC on September 17 and the same time on September 24. According to u/Meguminshiro, the former will be available for mobile gamers, too.
A story-driven detective game, Mindcop is a free download on iOS and iPadOS. However, one must pay to unlock the full game. By contrast, the game costs $5.99 on the Google Play Store. For reference, Mindcop commands a 4.5/5 star average on the Apple App Store, but drops to 4.3/5 stars on Google Play.
Moreover, the leaker reports that Mechabellum will be given away to PC gamers between September 24 and October 1. Currently priced at $14.99 on Epic Games, Mechabellum is a real-time strategy (RTS) game with cross-platform support. Also, Mechabellum offers online PvP and co-operative modes. Epic Games will announce its September 24 giveaways on September 17.
