Deal | New September 2026 game giveaway lineup goes live on Epic Games Store

Epic Games Store gave away a visual novel last week, and now that the giveaway has ended, the platform has started offering two free games. These two freebies will be available for PC users to claim until September 17, 2026, expiring at 15:00 UTC.

Luftrausers and Astral Ascent are currently available to claim as free games on Epic Games Store

There are currently two free games available for PC users on Epic Games Store. One of them is Luftrausers, an aerial combat game that was released in 2014. It features pixel graphics, and the bullet hell aspect makes it quite fun to play.

There are over 100 missions, and it's possible to equip the fighter aircraft with over 125 different combinations, making each configuration offer a different fighting experience than the other. On Steam, this currently Epic Games Store free game has over 2,500 reviews, among which 91% are positive.

While all these make the Luftrausers stand relatively well among the ace arcade shoot-em-ups, given that it's a relatively old game, the UI isn't as polished as that of something modern. The same can be said about the controls. When not on sale, it goes for $9.99, while the all-time low price is $1.99.

As for the second free game that's currently available to claim, it's Astral Ascent, a multi-award-winning title that was released in 2023. This is an action roguelike with hack-and-slash mechanics.

Players need to defeat a total of 12 powerful bosses, and the colorful world has a good amount of depth to it. Since launch, this currently free game on Epic Games Store has received over 1,800 reviews, and 95% of them are positive. However, it can become a bit slow and boring at one point, and the storyline isn't as interesting as the ones found in some other well-rated roguelikes.

Astral Ascent retails for $24.99, and when on sale, it goes as low as $9.99. It's available alongside Luftrausers on Epic Games Store, and both of these free games have proper controller support (GameSir Nova Lite 2 curr. $25.99 on Amazon).
