Meta is gearing up for Connect 2025 and it is expected to bring new “smart glasses” to the show floor. Expanding its portfolio and partnership with Ray-Ban, these new glasses will feature a heads-up display (HUD), a first for Meta. Ahead of the conference, a promo video showing the glasses has leaked and it shows the design, the heads-up display, and some of the functionality that is enabled by the sEMG wristband paired with them.
Dubbed Meta Ray-Ban Display, these are not VR or MR glasses but fall somewhere in the category of AR. The short clip (via UploadVR) shows a camera on the frame of the right eye and a HUD at the center, which seems to be fixed in that position. The glasses are paired with an sEMG or surface electromyography wristband that is used to control the display. The clip shows the user swiping on a physical surface to respond to a message. It also shows the glasses using Meta AI to navigate to a location, as well as show contextual information of what is being looked at.
BREAKING: Meta's HUD glasses with sEMG wristband will in fact be Ray-Ban branded, a leaked clip which also depicts the HUD and wristband in action reveals.

This is not the first time news of these glasses has surfaced. Back in December of last year, a report stated that Meta is planning to add a display to its Ray-Ban smart glasses. Then, in July 2025, renders of the glasses and the wristband surfaced. Last month, it was reported that the company has a $800 price tag planned for these glasses.
Interestingly, Meta Connect 2025 is scheduled for tomorrow, September 17, and it was recently reported that Valve could unveil its Steam Frame VR headset this week, likely on the same date. While Valve has not shared any information on the upcoming headset, it shadow dropped its Valve Index headset in 2019 during Meta’s F8 event where it opened pre-orders for its Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift S headsets.
