The Motorola Edge series of smartphones is quite a popular one with multiple models every year, but not everyone likes the fact that some of them have a curved display. It appears Motorola has finally listened as a leak has revealed that next year's Motorola Edge may have a flat display.
While a curved display does look good depending on who you ask, the cons outweigh whatever cosmetic advantage it offers. From accidental touches to increased fragility to the difficulty of finding a screen protector that fits, smartphones with curved displays are best avoided.
According to a post on X by Evan Blass (@evleaks), the Motorola Edge 2026 may ditch the curved display of the US-exclusive Motorola Edge 2025 (curr. available on Amazon for $449.99) for a flat display. The famed leaker had first shared a post praising the phone's design saying it “looks great”. He then quoted a comment that said the phone should have a flat screen. These two posts have led to the assumption that the Motorola Edge 2026 will have a flat display.
There are no technical details yet of the upcoming smartphone, but if Evan Blass has seen what the design looks like, then we can expect him to leak the device in the near future. Also, it is safe to presume that the change might not be exclusive to the Edge 2026 only but also some or all of the Edge 70 models considering Motorola uses the same design across models.
