Motorola uses a variety of materials and finishes for its smartphones, but a common one it uses across models is vegan leather. However, once in a while, Motorola releases a model with a real wood finish. The Razr 60 Ultra a.k.a Razr Ultra is an example as one of its four finishes is wood. The other three are Alcantara, Vegan leather, and Satin (exclusive to North America). The wooden finish is reminiscent of the 2014 Moto X which also had a wooden finish.
Now, Motorola has extended the wooden finish to another one of its 2025 smartphones — the Motorola Edge 60 Pro. The Edge 60 Pro (available on Amazon.de for €458.99) was announced in April and was initially available in three Pantone colors with different finishes. There's Dazzling Blue which has a nylon-like texture, and Sparkling Grape and Shadow, both of which have a faux leather finish.
Motorola China has now released the phone in a fourth color option called Basswood Walnut, and like the Pantone Mountain Trail variant of the Razr 60 Ultra, this is made of real wood. The Motorola Edge 60 Basswood Walnut has a different wood grain pattern from that of the Razr 60 Ultra but Motorola says it is natural wood.
Save for the material finish, the specs are the same as that of the other models. Although the new color is exclusive to the 12GB RAM + 512GB configuration while the other colors are available to buy in 256GB and 512GB options.
Motorola has not announced if this version of the Edge 60 Pro will be released in other markets but considering the Sparkling Grape (purple) version isn't sold in China, there's a chance this wooden variant may be exclusive to China. On the bright side, the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion will be getting a new color soon for global markets.
