Leak: WhatsApp is developing a much-awaited feature that will allow users to schedule messages

According to information revealed by WABetaInfo, the popular messaging app, WhatsApp, is currently developing a feature which will allow users to schedule messages to be sent at a specific time and date. While this may appear unremarkable at first, it should be noted that WhatsApp users have been requesting for such a feature for quite some time now.
However, this feature is very much still under development, and is not even available for beta testing. In fact, WABetaInfo learned that such a feature might be planned for a future release courtesy of references in the latest WhatsApp 26.7.10.72 Beta for iOS. That said, if and when the scheduled message feature does arrive, it will most likely grace the Android platform as well.
As of right now, Android users who wish to schedule messages have to rely on third-party integrations, which often come with safety and privacy risks. iOS users have to utilize Shortcut automations, which are a lot safer, but is still quite a hassle compared to a native feature.
The following screenshot shared by WABetaInfo reveals what the feature may look like, with a separate section inside chat options which will list all scheduled messages for that specific chat. Although the screenshot captures a group chat window, there seems to be no reason why WhatsApp won't allow such functionality in individual chats as well.
