Leak: Sigma fp II launching soon as tiny full-frame camera with EVF

The Sigma fp ($1,740 on Amazon) was introduced in 2019 as the world's smallest full-frame camera. Two years later, the Sigma fp L was unveiled with a 61-megapixel sensor and faster autofocus. Since then, Sigma has not introduced any new models in the fp series. The newer Sigma bf is even more minimalist, but also significantly larger – the Sigma fp measures just 11.2 x 6.9 x 4.5 centimeters.
L-Rumors has now learned from several sources that Sigma will launch a successor to the world's smallest full-frame camera "soon". This Sigma fp II is reportedly slightly larger, but is also said to feature a built-in electronic viewfinder, which should make the somewhat bulky add-on viewfinder a thing of the past. Sigma is reportedly using a full-frame sensor with a resolution of 24 megapixels. While this is surprising given that the Sigma fp L already featured a much higher-resolution sensor, it makes sense, as the new model is said to focus on video.
The camera can reportedly record RAW and open-gate video directly to a memory card, without an external recorder. As before, Sigma is using the L-mount, which is also used by Leica SL and Panasonic S cameras, providing access to a wide selection of lenses. The camera will reportedly cost around $2,500 and is expected to be officially unveiled no earlier than October 24, but possibly not until November.
