iPhone launch season is just around the corner, and as usual, seasoned tipsters are churning out interesting tidbits almost every other day. We already have quite a decent idea as to what to expect from this year's lineup of flagships from Apple, with a fresh suggestion revealing the SoC details for the iPhone 17.
Folks who have remained in the loop will likely be able to recall that the base variant of the iPhone 17 family, the vanilla iPhone 17, was previously expected to feature the year-old A18 SoC - a trick that Apple first utilised in 2022. However, analyst Jeff Pu has revealed that the iPhone 17 is now expected to pack the upcoming A19 SoC.
To be fair, most folks buying the entry-variant iPhone will likely be more than satiated with the performance that last-gen A-series SoC has to offer. However, last year's vanilla iPhone 16 did boast the current-gen A18 chip, and it now appears that the iPhone 17 will as well.
Moreover, the iPhone 17 Air will also be sporting the A19 SoC, with the A19 Pro SoC being reserved for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max smartphones. Needless to say, these rumors are always to be taken with a grain of salt. Considering that the iPhone 17 family is less than two months away from launch, we won't have to wait long to find out what Apple has been cooking up.
