LG CineBeam Qube HU710PB: Stylish and compact projector with 4K resolution comes with its own operating system and streaming capabilities

Thanks to LED/laser technology, it is now possible to create compact projectors with a brightness level suitable for everyday use. Compared to conventional projectors, however, such models are usually significantly less bright, even at the same price, which means that use in daylight is only possible with restrictions.

The CineBeam Qube from LG is no exception in this regard. The brightness of the projector is said to be 500 ANSI lumens. A projection diagonal of between 50 and 120 inches is supported and the minimum projection ratio is given as 1.2.

The native resolution is 3840 x 2160, meaning that high-resolution content can be played without any loss of quality. The contrast ratio is specified as 450,000:1, and the DCI-P3 color space is said to be covered at 154%. It is reportedly easy to set up thanks to automatic adjustment of the optics, and a handle is built in for transportation. Measuring 80 x 135 x 135 millimetres and weighing just 1.49 kilograms, the system can also be used without a player thanks to the installed webOS 6.0. Users can then access Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube, for example. HDMI with eARC and USB type C are also on board. The wireless transmission of image content from both Android and iOS devices should be possible.

LG has not yet commented exactly on the price or availability of the CineBeam Qube; the projector will be exhibited at the CES in Las Vegas between Jan 9-12.
