The JBL Flip 7 is a new Bluetooth speaker that should be very easy to transport. The American manufacturer advertises decent audio quality and long battery life.

The new JBL Flip 7 has been unveiled last month, but now it has finally launched. Specifically, the Bluetooth speaker can now be preordered for $149 at the brand's official online store. Shipping ist expected to kick off on April 6th. This applies to the US market, the availability in other regions may differ. Similar to the slightly cheaper predecessor (from $129 on Amazon), the JBL Flip 7 should eventually become available on Amazon as well.

That being said, the new version supports Bluetooth 5.4 and Auracast, the latter of which allows the JBL Flip 7 to connect to other speakers. Lossless audio transmission is also possible via a USB Type-C cable. Meanwhile, the PushLock system makes it easy to swap out different accessories such as a mount. The speaker is compatible with JBL’s smartphone app, which can be used to adjust various settings and install software updates.

Additionally, the JBL speaker is equipped with a 16mm tweeter and subwoofer, which should result in a decent bass. The RMS power is listed as 25 watts for the woofer and 10 watts for the tweeter. Even more importantly, the Flip 7 measures approximately 7.2 x 2.7 x 2.8 inches and weighs about 1.2 pounds. It further has a 17.28 Wh battery with a runtime of up to 14 hours. However, the actual battery life will heavily depend on the volume. Last but not least, the portable Bluetooth speaker is IP68 certified and should be able to survive a drop from about 3.3 feet onto concrete.
