Amazon has dropped the price of the lightweight JBL Live 460NC wireless headphones in black to $49.99, a discount of 66% off its MSRP of $144.95. They weigh 7.4 oz. (210 g).
The Live 460NC uses 40 mm drivers with a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and two microphones for stereo phone calls. Their on-ear design can potentially keep the ears cooler versus over-ear models that trap heat and moisture. Rtings has noted the JBL Live 460N is a good mid-range model that can be a bit tight for large heads, with a small soundstage common to most closed-ear headphones.
The headphones can be controlled even while wearing gloves using the physical volume and settings buttons located on the right earcup, or hands-free using Google or Alexa voice assistants. They automatically play and pause music playback when worn or removed.
The active noise cancellation system can be adjusted to fully block background noise, allow ambient noises to pass through, or allow speech to be heard while automatically lowering the music volume. The sound profile can be tuned using the My JBL Headphones smartphone app. The headphones support multi-point Bluetooth 5.0 connections and Google Fast Pair with Android phones.
The wireless headphones provide listeners with up to 50 hours of runtime with ANC off and up to 40 hours with ANC on between charges, and take 2.0 hours to recharge using an external USB power source, says JBL. They can also be used as wired headphones using the included audio cable.
