Apple-owned Beats by Dre released a new Beats Pill speaker in June 2024, nine years after its last model, the Beats Pill+. The new Beats Pill speaker a.k.a. Beats Pill (2024) launched with several upgrades including a refreshed design, better sound reproduction, and double the battery life of its predecessor. When it was announced last year, it cost $149, but for a limited time, Amazon is offering a 33% discount that brings the price down to $99.95.
The new discounted price is just a few dollars more than the lowest the Beats Pill has sold for since its launch nearly a year ago, so it is still worth grabbing. Although, the discount is limited to just three color options — Matte Black, Champagne Gold, and Statement Red — while the other two color options — two Dark Gray and Light Gray — retain their list price of $149.95.
Amazon is also offering a discount on the bundle that includes a 20W adapter ($114.94 instead of $168.95).
The Beats Pill features a bigger custom racetrack woofer than the Beats Pill+, resulting in deeper and fuller bass. The speaker has an IP67 dust and water resistance rating, support for lossless audio when you switch to a wired connection using the included USB-C cable, and support for pairing two speakers together for a true stereo experience or just to amplify the audio experience.
Designed to work with both Android and iOS devices, pairing is easy. There's even support for Apple's Find My and Android's Find My Device. Boasting a battery life of up to 24 hours, up from the 12 hours of the Beats Pill+, the Beats Pill can even share some of its battery power when your phone's battery is low, serving as an emergency power bank.
